How Turning Movements at Intersections Can Lead to Serious Crashes
Intersections such as State Road 62 and St. Phillips Road can create risk due to turning movements across active traffic lanes. When one vehicle turns while another continues straight, timing and visibility are key factors in avoiding a collision.
These types of crashes often involve direct impact between vehicles, which can result in severe outcomes, especially for those on motorcycles. Without the protection of a vehicle frame, riders are more exposed during a collision.
Clear sightlines, proper timing, and awareness of approaching traffic are important in these situations. Intersections on busy routes may require extra caution from all drivers to reduce the risk of serious crashes.
