Risks When Law Enforcement Responds to Street Racing
Street racing can create highly dangerous conditions on public roadways. High speeds, unpredictable maneuvers, and inattentive drivers can put both participants and officers at serious risk.
Law enforcement monitoring these activities may be struck accidentally or intentionally, and emergency response crews must act quickly to provide care. Protective measures such as positioning vehicles safely and coordinating traffic control help reduce risk, but unpredictable driver behavior can still lead to injuries.
