This is an updated post of a story that happened on March 23.
Reno, NV (April 1, 2026) – Authorities are searching for a suspect connected to a hit-and-run crash that involved a motorcycle on Pyramid Highway and Delores Drive last week.
The incident began around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, when officers spotted the vehicle linked to the March 23 crash. The car reportedly drove into a Carl’s Jr. on Kietzke Lane, and the suspect exited the vehicle while it was still in drive, fleeing on foot.
There is no active threat to the public. Police describe the suspect as a white man with facial tattoos, last seen wearing red sweats and a black sweatshirt. Officers and troopers have set up a perimeter, and NHP, Reno Police, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, drones, and K-9 units are actively searching the area. Anyone with information is urged to call 911 or the Nevada Highway Patrol.
Our thoughts are with the injured motorcyclist.
Why Hit-and-Run Investigations Are Challenging
Hit-and-run crashes are difficult to investigate because the driver leaves the scene before authorities can collect evidence. Vehicle tracking, witness statements, and video surveillance are critical in identifying suspects.
Motorcycle crashes can result in serious injuries even at low speeds, so authorities prioritize locating the suspect quickly. Coordinated search efforts often involve multiple agencies and specialized resources such as K-9 units and aerial support to ensure public safety.
