How Left-Turn Collisions Often Occur on Busy Roads
Crashes involving left turns are common, especially at intersections where traffic moves in opposite directions. These accidents often happen when a driver misjudges the speed or distance of an oncoming vehicle while attempting to turn.
Motorcycles can be harder to spot than larger vehicles, particularly in low light or early morning conditions. Their smaller size may cause them to blend into the background, increasing the risk of a collision during turning movements.
Road design and traffic flow also affect how these crashes unfold. Intersections without dedicated turn signals or clear visibility can increase the chances of a crash. Paying close attention and yielding properly can help reduce the risk in these situations.
