Austin, TX (July 6, 2026) – A motorcyclist was taken to a hospital with critical injuries on Saturday morning, July 4, after a crash on northbound I-35 near the Sixth Street exit in downtown Austin. The collision was reported at approximately 11:12 a.m.
The rider was found down on the freeway and taken to Dell Seton Medical Center. A vehicle believed to be involved left the scene before the police arrived. Investigators were working to confirm whether additional vehicles played a role in the wreck.
All northbound lanes of I-35 starting at Holly Street were closed following the accident. The road reopened at approximately 12:51 p.m. No identity or further details about the rider were available at the time of this report. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
