Sacramento, CA (January 30, 2026) – A vehicle collision early Wednesday involving a telephone pole near Hagginwood Park resulted in injuries and traffic hazards along Marysville Blvd, according to local law enforcement dispatch reports.
The incident occurred shortly after midnight on January 28, when a Ford hatchback reportedly veered off the road and struck a utility pole near the park, located at 3271 Marysville Blvd. The impact brought down power lines, which blocked both directions of traffic near Arcade Blvd.
Emergency crews responded to the scene to assess the situation and manage the road hazard. Initial reports indicated that the driver fled the scene on foot, walking southbound toward Arcade Blvd. Witnesses described the individual as a Hispanic male wearing all black, and officers later detained a person matching that description nearby.
One person was believed to have suffered injuries as a result of the crash, though the extent of those injuries has not been publicly disclosed. A witness at the scene was able to identify the detained individual, who was found in possession of items linking him to the vehicle.
Authorities remained on scene to control traffic, investigate the collision, and coordinate with utility crews to address the downed wires. The Ford involved was confirmed to have an expired registration.
We extend our concern to anyone injured in this incident and appreciate the swift response from emergency personnel.
