How Do Vehicles End Up Crashing Into Storefronts?
Storefront crashes can happen for several reasons, including driver error, pedal confusion, or mechanical issues. In some cases, a driver may accidentally press the accelerator instead of the brake, causing the vehicle to go forward.
Parking areas located directly in front of businesses can increase the risk if a car jumps a curb or fails to stop in time. Even at low speeds, a vehicle can break through glass and exterior walls.
Buildings often require repairs after such incidents, especially if structural supports are damaged. Safety barriers, such as reinforced posts, are sometimes installed to help prevent vehicles from entering storefronts.
