Why Center Line Crossings Often Result in Serious Crashes
Crossing the center line can lead to head-on collisions, which are among the most severe types of roadway crashes. These incidents often involve direct impact between vehicles traveling in opposite directions.
Several factors can cause a vehicle to drift across the center line, including driver fatigue, distraction, or loss of control. Road conditions and visibility may also contribute to these events.
Head-on crashes often result in significant injuries due to the combined force of both vehicles. Staying alert, maintaining proper lane position, and avoiding distractions can help reduce the risk of these collisions.
