How Highway Impacts Can Lead to Vehicle Rollovers
Main travel routes near Interstate 235, about half a mile north of East 47th Street, can experience delays after collisions. Injury accident scenes in Sedgwick County may involve lane restrictions while damaged vehicles are cleared.
When one vehicle strikes another at highway speeds, the force of the impact can cause the struck vehicle to spin or leave the roadway. If a vehicle reaches a steep shoulder or embankment, it may begin to roll before coming to rest.
Rollover crashes can increase the chance of injury because occupants may be thrown around inside the vehicle. Seat belt use can help reduce the risk of serious harm by keeping passengers secured during sudden movement.
