Bridgeview, IL (August 26, 2026) – Seven people were injured early Wednesday morning, August 26, in a crash involving a work van and a tractor-trailer at West 71st Street and South Harlem Avenue. The collision happened at approximately 4:00 a.m.
Police said the work van sustained significant damage and rolled onto its side, leaving multiple occupants trapped inside. Officers and firefighters worked to remove the trapped people from the vehicle.
Seven people were injured in total, including the tractor-trailer driver. Two of the patients suffered critical injuries. The available report did not specify the conditions of the other five people.
Authorities closed the intersection while emergency crews worked at the scene, and officials expected the closure to continue through the morning rush hour.
