What Can Affect Collisions Involving Utility Vehicles on Roadways?
Utility vehicles, often used for work or off-road purposes, may sometimes travel along road shoulders or rural routes. Their smaller size and lower speed can create differences when sharing space with standard passenger vehicles.
Visibility is one factor that can influence these types of crashes. Drivers may not immediately notice a utility vehicle, especially if it is moving slowly or positioned near the roadway edge.
Road conditions, vehicle spacing, and speed differences can also affect how safely both vehicles operate in the same area. These elements are often reviewed to better understand how a collision between a passenger car and a utility vehicle may occur.
