Rolette County, ND (August 11, 2026) – Three people were killed, and another was hurt in a head-on collision early Sunday morning on BIA 7 in Rolette County. The crash occurred at about 2:45 a.m. Sunday, August 9.
According to a spokesperson for the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa, a southbound SUV crossed the center line and collided with a northbound pickup truck. The SUV driver, a Belcourt woman, died in the crash.
Two passengers in the pickup, a Belcourt woman and a Devils Lake man, also died. The pickup driver, a Belcourt woman, was life-flighted to Minot for treatment, and her condition was not released.
Bureau of Indian Affairs Law Enforcement is leading the investigation. The North Dakota Highway Patrol and Indian Health Services also assisted following the collision.
