Why Motorcycle and Truck Crashes Can Be Fatal
Motorcycle crashes involving trucks can be especially severe because riders have little protection during impact. A motorcycle rider or passenger may be thrown from the bike or suffer direct trauma from the vehicle, road, or nearby objects.
Intersections can also increase risk because vehicles may be turning, stopping, or crossing through traffic at the same time. Investigators may review vehicle positions, traffic signs, speed, visibility, road conditions, and witness statements to understand how the crash happened. Medical teams often see severe head, chest, spine, and internal injuries in motorcycle collisions, especially when a larger vehicle is involved.
