Why Two-Vehicle Intersection Crashes Require Careful Investigation
Collisions at intersections usually occur when vehicles enter the same space from different directions or while turning. Investigators typically examine traffic control devices, vehicle positions, roadway markings, debris, and witness statements to determine how the crash occurred.
Additional evidence, including surveillance footage, vehicle damage, road conditions, and visibility, may also be reviewed. These findings help establish the sequence of events leading up to the collision and provide a clearer understanding of the factors that contributed to the crash.
