Lebanon, IN (July 10, 2026) – Two people were injured on Wednesday evening following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of State Road 39 and Lakeshore Drive in Lebanon.

The crash occurred shortly before 7 p.m. on the north side of the city. According to the Lebanon Police Department, the drivers were the sole occupants of their respective vehicles.

Both drivers were transported to Witham Hospital for treatment. One of the motorists sustained serious injuries, while the extent of the other driver’s injuries has not been disclosed.

The intersection remained partially blocked for a period as emergency responders assisted those involved and investigators documented the scene. Traffic was restored after the vehicles were removed and the roadway was cleared; however, the cause of the collision remains under investigation.

We are thinking of those injured and wish them a full and speedy recovery.

Why Two-Vehicle Intersection Crashes Require Careful Investigation

Collisions at intersections usually occur when vehicles enter the same space from different directions or while turning. Investigators typically examine traffic control devices, vehicle positions, roadway markings, debris, and witness statements to determine how the crash occurred.

Additional evidence, including surveillance footage, vehicle damage, road conditions, and visibility, may also be reviewed. These findings help establish the sequence of events leading up to the collision and provide a clearer understanding of the factors that contributed to the crash.
