Why Head-on Crashes Often Cause Severe Injuries
Head-on crashes can be especially dangerous because both vehicles may be moving toward each other at impact. This can create a strong force that affects drivers and passengers in both vehicles. Even safety features may not fully prevent serious harm in these collisions.
Roads near bypasses may feature speed changes, curves, and areas where traffic enters or exits. These conditions can affect how much time drivers have to react. At night, reduced visibility may also make it harder to see hazards ahead.
After a serious head-on crash, medical teams often check for head, chest, leg, and internal injuries. Vehicle damage, road markings, and final stopping points may also provide useful context about how the crash occurred.
