What Makes Motorcycle Crashes More Likely to Cause Injuries?
Motorcycle crashes often result in injuries because riders have far less protection compared to those inside passenger vehicles. Without the structural support of a car, motorcyclists are more exposed to direct impact during a collision.
Intersections are especially high-risk areas, as vehicles may turn, stop, or cross paths unexpectedly. Even a low-speed crash can lead to significant injuries for an unprotected rider.
Protective gear such as helmets and proper riding equipment can help reduce injury severity, but awareness from both riders and drivers is essential. Staying alert and yielding appropriately at intersections can help prevent these types of incidents.
