Why E-Bike Crashes Can Cause Serious Injuries
E-bike riders can suffer serious injuries when they are hit by a car because they have limited protection. Unlike drivers, riders do not have airbags, seat belts, or a vehicle frame around them during impact.
Crossings near trails can also create added risk. Drivers may be watching nearby traffic, while riders may be focused on crossing safely. A short gap in visibility or timing can lead to a crash.
After an e-bike collision, medical crews often check for head, chest, back, leg, and internal injuries. Some injuries might not be easy to see right away. Hospital care can help identify the full extent of harm after a strong impact.
