ATV Crash Safety and Awareness
ATV crashes often result in severe or fatal injuries due to the limited protection these vehicles provide during impacts or rollovers. Excessive speed, loss of control, and roadway hazards are among the leading factors in serious ATV collisions.
Riders are encouraged to operate ATVs carefully, especially on rural roads and uneven terrain where sharp turns and obstacles can increase the risk of losing control. Remaining attentive and traveling at safe speeds can significantly reduce the likelihood of serious accidents.
Emergency responders also remind riders to avoid risky maneuvers and ensure vehicles are operated responsibly to help prevent future tragedies. Virginia State Police continue to investigate the fatal Westmoreland County crash.
