Oklahoma City, OK (June 21, 2026) – A collision involving a Jeep, a tractor pulling a brush hog, and a Frito-Lay semi-truck injured and hospitalized two people on Friday afternoon on Interstate 35 near NE 36th Street in Oklahoma City.
According to authorities, the tractor may have entered the roadway before being struck by the semi-truck. The impact reportedly caused a chain reaction that led to the semi-truck striking a nearby bridge and catching fire. Two individuals were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Their conditions have not been released. No additional injuries have been confirmed at this time. The incident remains under investigation by the police. Our hearts are with the injured, and we hope for their healing.
What Makes Multi-Vehicle Highway Fires Especially Dangerous?
Crashes involving multiple large vehicles can escalate quickly when fuel, heavy equipment, or commercial trucks are involved. Fire risk increases when fuel tanks rupture or when vehicles strike fixed structures such as bridges or barriers.
Emergency responders typically prioritize extinguishing flames, stabilizing injured individuals, and preventing secondary crashes by closing nearby lanes. Once the scene is secure, investigators examine vehicle positions, mechanical conditions, and entry points to the roadway to reconstruct the sequence of events. These incidents require extended investigation time due to the complexity of multiple impacts and potential infrastructure damage.
