How Two-Vehicle Collisions Can Result in Severe Injuries
Collisions between two vehicles, especially head-on or angle impacts, can cause serious injuries because the crash force is shared between the vehicles. Occupants are at greater risk when seat belts are not worn or when vehicles are traveling at high speeds.
Road conditions, visibility, and vehicle types can also affect the severity of a crash. In multi-occupant vehicles, some passengers may suffer more severe injuries depending on their seating position and the direction of impact. Prompt medical care is important for anyone involved, as injuries may not always be immediately apparent.
