Why Rollover Crashes Often Lead to Serious Injuries
Rollover crashes can result in severe injuries because vehicles may overturn multiple times, exposing occupants to strong impact forces from several directions. Entrapment inside damaged vehicles is also more common in rollover accidents.
Intersections controlled by stop signs can become dangerous when drivers misjudge the speed or distance of approaching traffic. Larger vehicles hauling trailers may require more distance to slow down or avoid a collision after another vehicle enters the roadway.
After rollover accidents, investigators often review vehicle damage, roadway markings, and intersection visibility to determine how the crash unfolded. The roadway’s condition and the movement of both vehicles may also help explain why they overturned.
