What Is Typically Reviewed in Multi-Vehicle Pedestrian Fatalities?
When a pedestrian is struck by more than one vehicle, investigators often focus on the sequence of impacts and the positions of each vehicle involved. This helps determine how the collision unfolded across the roadway.
Driver actions before and after the impact are also reviewed. This can include whether a driver stopped at the scene or left afterward, as well as how quickly each vehicle responded to the hazard.
Roadway conditions, lighting, and pedestrian crossing locations are also examined. These factors help provide context for visibility and traffic movement at the time of the incident.
