How Intersection Crashes Can Involve Turning Vehicles
Collisions at intersections frequently happen when a driver turns across the path of oncoming traffic. Even slow-moving vehicles can cause injury if a turning vehicle enters the lane at the wrong time.
Factors such as limited visibility, traffic volume, and misjudgment of speed or distance often contribute to these accidents. In many cases, wearing seat belts and remaining attentive while approaching intersections can reduce the risk of serious injury.
Traffic signals, stop signs, and clear lane markings are designed to help drivers navigate intersections safely, but caution and defensive driving remain key to avoiding collisions.
