York, SC (August 31, 2026) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal collision that claimed the life of one person and left another person injured on Sunday afternoon, August 30, on Hord Road in York near the intersection of Turkey Creek Road. The collision occurred around 12:52 p.m.
A 2016 Ram pickup truck was traveling north on Hord Road when it was struck head-on by a southbound 1992 Honda Accord. The driver of the Honda died at the scene. The Ram driver was taken by EMS to a local hospital for treatment. The extent of that person’s injuries was not immediately available. The identity of the deceased driver had not been released at the time of the report.
