How Firefighters Handle Residential Fires
House fires often spread quickly, especially in areas with flammable materials or limited exits. Firefighters prioritize rescuing anyone trapped inside while containing the flames to prevent further property damage.
Teams use hoses, ladders, and ventilation techniques to control heat and smoke, which can pose serious risks to occupants. Coordinated efforts between multiple fire departments are common in larger or complex fires. Even when a fire is confined to a portion of a home, smoke and heat can make the environment unsafe, leading to the displacement of residents.
