His name has not been released.
Traffic in the area was temporarily rerouted onto the exit as crews worked at the scene. No other vehicles were reported to be involved. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash, and more details will be released as soon as they become available.
We extend our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased driver.
Why Rollover Crashes Can Happen on Highways
Rollover crashes can occur when a driver loses control at highway speeds. Sudden steering changes, such as overcorrecting after drifting off the road, can cause a vehicle to tip or roll. SUVs and similar vehicles may have a higher center of gravity, which can increase the risk in certain situations.
Road conditions and driver actions both contribute to how these crashes unfold. Leaving the roadway and re-entering at an angle can make it harder to regain control. Seat belt use can help reduce the risk of fatal outcomes in rollover crashes. Even a single-vehicle incident can become serious due to speed and vehicle movement.
