What Causes Rollover Crashes?
Rollover crashes can happen when a vehicle strikes another object or makes a sudden movement at higher speeds. Vehicles with a higher center of gravity, such as vans or SUVs, may be more likely to tip during sharp turns or side impacts.
Side collisions at intersections or during lane changes can also lead to rollovers. The force of impact may shift a vehicle’s balance, especially if tires hit a curb or uneven pavement.
Wearing seat belts can help reduce the risk of serious injury during a rollover. Safety features such as airbags and reinforced roofs are also designed to protect occupants if a vehicle overturns.
