Why Head-On Dirt Bike Crashes Can Cause Serious Injuries
Head-on crashes involving dirt bikes can result in severe injuries because riders have little protection during impact. Injuries to the head and legs are common when riders are thrown from their bikes or collide directly with another vehicle.
Roadways and trails used by off-road vehicles may have limited lighting, narrow travel areas, or reduced visibility around curves. These conditions can make it harder for riders to avoid oncoming traffic or react in time to prevent a collision.
After dirt bike crashes, investigators often examine impact points, roadway conditions, and witness statements to determine how the incident occurred. Helmet use, vehicle damage, and the direction of travel may also help explain the sequence of events.
