Common Injury Concerns After a Skateboarder Crashes
Crashes involving skateboarders can cause serious injuries because riders have little protection during impact. A fall or collision with a vehicle may lead to head, back, arm, or leg injuries. Head injuries are a major concern when a rider strikes the ground.
Early morning crashes can also create visibility problems. Low light may make it harder for drivers to see smaller roadway users. A skateboarder may also be harder to spot near curves, driveways, or parked vehicles.
After these accidents, responders often check for signs of head trauma. Even if a person is awake, dizziness, confusion, or pain may point to an injury that needs further medical care.
