What Information Is Often Reviewed in Multi-Vehicle Head-On Crashes?
Multi-vehicle head-on crashes often require investigators to carefully reconstruct vehicle movement leading up to the impact. These collisions can involve complex sequences, especially when one vehicle crosses lanes unexpectedly.
Investigators typically review roadway alignment, lane markings, and driver control to determine why a vehicle may have left its lane. Speed, reaction time, and possible medical or mechanical issues are also commonly examined. In multi-vehicle incidents, damage patterns and debris fields help establish the order of impacts. Witness statements and surveillance footage, when available, may also provide important context for how the crash developed.
