The driver of the Kia, identified as 39-year-old Ladonna Craig, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and a passenger inside the Ford pickup were taken to Bryan East hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
The crash remains under investigation, and additional information may become available as authorities continue their review.
We extend our sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Ladonna Craig and wish the injured victims a swift and full recovery.
Travel Conditions on Highway 34 During Winter Storms
Routes carrying regional traffic near Highway 34 and mile marker 315 can become dangerous when winter storms move through the area. In Lancaster County, crews often work to secure crash scenes while traffic slows around emergency activity.
Snow and strong winds can reduce visibility and create white-out conditions on open stretches of highway. Drivers may lose sight of lane markings or approaching vehicles when snow blows across the roadway.
When vehicles lose traction on snowy or icy pavement, they may slide into opposing lanes or off the road. These conditions can lead to sudden crashes, especially when drivers have little time to react.
