Officials reported that the semi had just exited southbound Santa Fe Drive onto Belleview Ave when it went off the road and entered the gas station parking lot. The Littleton Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
Authorities continue to investigate, and more details will be released as they become available.
We are thinking of those injured as they receive medical care.
How Vehicle-Building Collisions Occur
Crashes involving vehicles striking buildings often occur when a driver loses control while entering a parking lot or turning from a roadway. Large trucks can be particularly difficult to maneuver in tight spaces, increasing the risk of collisions.
Investigators typically review vehicle paths, speed, and braking, as well as the layout of parking areas, to determine how the crash occurred. The presence of pedestrians, employees, or customers can further complicate emergency response and scene management.
Understanding these factors helps explain why even low-speed incidents involving large vehicles can result in serious injuries and property damage.
