Why Pedestrian Accidents Involving Children Can Be Severe
Young children are particularly vulnerable to vehicle accidents because of their small size and unpredictable movements. Even at low speeds, collisions can cause serious injuries due to a child’s fragility.
Investigators typically examine vehicle speed, roadway conditions, and the child’s path to understand how the crash occurred. Urban areas with intersections or driveways present particular risks, especially when visibility is limited.
Understanding these factors helps explain why even minor traffic mistakes or sudden movements can result in serious injuries for child pedestrians.
