Longs, SC (January 9, 2026) – A driver was hospitalized on Thursday afternoon following a single-vehicle crash in the Longs area of Horry County, according to local emergency officials.
The incident occurred around 3:27 p.m. near the intersection of East Highway 9 and Charter Dr, just outside the entrance of a residential neighborhood. Horry County Fire Rescue crews arrived at the scene and confirmed that the crash involved a vehicle colliding with a wall near the neighborhood entrance.
Emergency medical personnel treated one individual for injuries sustained in the crash and transported them to a nearby hospital for further care. The extent of the injuries has not been disclosed, but no other occupants were reported in the vehicle.
As a result of the collision, lanes along Highway 9 were temporarily blocked while crews worked to manage the scene and clear the roadway. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is actively investigating the cause of the crash.
