How Suspected DUI Crashes Are Typically Examined
When a crash is suspected to involve alcohol, several factors are usually reviewed to piece together what happened. Observations from the scene, including items found inside the vehicle, can provide early clues about possible impairment.
Roadway evidence, such as skid marks, vehicle damage, and final resting positions, may help show how the crash unfolded. These details can indicate speed, direction, and whether the vehicle lost control.
Toxicology testing is often used to confirm the presence of alcohol or other substances. Combined with witness accounts and physical evidence, these findings can help build a clearer picture of the events leading up to the crash.
