Bakersfield, CA (July 22, 2026) – A major two-vehicle collision was reported on the evening of July 20 near the intersection of Comanche Drive and Di Giorgio Road in Bakersfield. Emergency units were called to the northbound side of the roadway shortly before 9:00 p.m. after reports indicated two passenger vehicles had collided.
Initial dispatch information described the vehicles as a gray four-door sedan and a gray or green Honda. Both vehicles remained on the roadway following the collision while crews worked at the site. Tow trucks were later requested to remove the damaged vehicles. Dispatch updates also indicated that both people involved were taken to Kern Medical Center for evaluation.
The extent of their injuries had not been released at the time of publication.
The cause of the collision has not yet been determined, and the investigation remains ongoing.
