Motorcycle Crashes at Intersections and Turn Lanes
Motorcycle crashes involving turning vehicles are among the most serious roadway collisions, often occurring when drivers fail to properly judge the speed or distance of approaching motorcycles. Because motorcycles are smaller and less visible than passenger vehicles, riders can face an increased risk of severe injury in intersection-related crashes.
Drivers are encouraged to check carefully for motorcycles before turning across traffic and to remain alert at intersections and business entrances. Motorcyclists are also urged to use caution and maintain visibility whenever possible while traveling on busy roadways.
Authorities continue investigating the fatal crash in Moore County.
