What Factors Are Often Considered in Single-Vehicle Crashes on Freeways?
Single-vehicle crashes on freeways can occur for several reasons, often involving loss of control. This may happen due to sudden steering movements, speeding, or drifting out of a lane.
Road conditions can also affect how a vehicle handles. Wet pavement, debris, or uneven surfaces may lead to a vehicle leaving the roadway or striking an object. These conditions can be more difficult to manage at higher speeds.
Driver condition is another factor that may be reviewed. Fatigue or reduced alertness can impact reaction time, especially during early morning hours. Vehicle condition, such as tire performance or mechanical issues, may also contribute to how a crash occurs.
