Why Single-Vehicle Crashes Involving Teen Drivers Can Be Severe
Single-vehicle crashes often occur when a driver loses control due to speed, road conditions, or inattention. When a vehicle leaves the roadway, impacts with trees or fixed objects can be especially dangerous.
Teen drivers may be at greater risk in certain situations due to limited driving experience and slower reaction times. Passenger load can also affect vehicle stability and driver focus.
Investigators typically examine roadway layout, speed, and vehicle movement before the crash. These factors help determine how the vehicle left the roadway and what contributed to the outcome.
