Norman, OK (May 9, 2026) – A woman died, and a Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office deputy was injured following a two-vehicle crash late on Friday night in Norman.
According to the Norman Police Department, officers responded around 11:10 p.m. to the intersection of Cedar Lane Road and Classen Boulevard following reports of a serious injury collision.
Investigators said one of the vehicles involved was operated by a deputy with the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office. The second vehicle was driven by an adult woman who sustained significant injuries in the crash.
Emergency responders pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
Authorities stated that the deputy suffered injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, where the deputy remained in stable condition.
The identity of the deceased woman has not yet been released pending notification of family members.
The Norman Police Department’s Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Team (CIRT) is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
