Walker, LA (August 11, 2026) – A Holden man was killed, and two others were seriously hurt in a two-vehicle collision Saturday night on LA 63 in Livingston Parish. The crash occurred shortly before 10:30 p.m. Saturday, August 8, just south of LA 449.
Louis Gurka, 40, of Holden, was driving a 2012 Toyota Camry southbound on LA 63 when the vehicle crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a northbound 2019 Hyundai Elantra, according to Louisiana State Police.
Gurka was pronounced dead at the scene. The Elantra driver and a front-seat passenger were properly restrained but suffered serious injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The circumstances surrounding the fatal accident remain under investigation. Our condolences go to Gurka’s family and loved ones, while we hope for a full recovery for those who were hurt.
