Paramount, CA (February 1, 2026) – A tragic multi-vehicle collision claimed the life of 25-year-old Miiyada Taylor early Saturday morning on the Long Beach (710) Freeway near the Rosecrans Avenue off-ramp in Paramount.
The fatal crash occurred just before 2:55 AM on January 31 in the northbound lanes of the 710 Freeway. According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident involved three vehicles—a white sedan, a white Ford Explorer, and a third unidentified vehicle. The specific sequence of events that led to the collision remains under investigation.
Emergency responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene and worked to assist those involved. Despite their efforts, Miiyada Taylor was pronounced dead as a result of the crash. No other fatalities were reported, though it is unclear whether additional parties sustained injuries.
CHP officers closed at least two lanes of the freeway during the response and initial investigation. Traffic was significantly impacted as crews processed the scene and collected evidence.
Authorities have not confirmed whether speed, impairment, or mechanical failure played a role in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing as officials continue to determine the cause of the collision.
