How Right-of-Way Violations Can Lead to Truck and Passenger Vehicle Crashes
Crashes involving large trucks and smaller vehicles often occur when one driver fails to yield the right-of-way. Intersections are common locations for these incidents, especially when vehicles are turning across oncoming traffic.
When a passenger vehicle collides with a truck or its trailer, the size difference can result in significant damage to the smaller vehicle. Even at moderate speeds, the impact can lead to injuries due to the force involved.
Factors such as visibility, timing of the turn, and speed of approaching traffic can all influence how these crashes happen. Seatbelt use can also affect injury outcomes for those inside passenger vehicles.
