How Reconstruction Reports Help Explain Pedestrian Crashes
A reconstruction report is a detailed analysis used to determine how a pedestrian and a vehicle came into contact. Specialists may examine physical evidence such as tire marks, vehicle damage, roadway measurements, traffic signals, and visibility. Photos, surveillance footage, and witness accounts can also be reviewed to help establish a timeline.
In many pedestrian cases, investigators evaluate vehicle speed, crossing locations, weather, and whether either party had a clear view before the collision occurred. The completed report brings together these findings to provide a technical explanation of the sequence of events. It may also identify factors that contributed to the crash, giving a clearer picture of what happened based on available evidence rather than early observations alone.
