How ATV and Vehicle Intersection Crashes Commonly Occur
ATV crashes at intersections often happen when drivers fail to yield or fully stop before crossing roadways. Because ATVs are smaller and lower in profile, they can be harder for other drivers to see in time.
Collisions with passenger vehicles can result in severe injuries due to the difference in size and speed. Riders are also more exposed, especially when not properly restrained.
Intersections with limited visibility or rural road layouts can increase the risk of these types of crashes. Reaction time and awareness are key factors in preventing serious outcomes.
