What Drivers Should Know About Pedestrian Crashes on Busy Highways
Pedestrian crashes on major highways often involve high-speed traffic and limited visibility. These conditions can make it harder for drivers to react quickly, especially near intersections or areas with multiple lanes.
After such incidents, investigators typically review roadway design, lighting conditions, and traffic flow at the time of the crash. They may also examine whether the pedestrian was in a marked crossing area or attempting to cross outside of it.
Vehicle positioning and skid marks can help reconstruct how the crash happened. Even small details like weather or road surface conditions may contribute to understanding the sequence of events.
In many cases, early reports provide only basic facts while more technical analysis is completed later. This helps build a clearer picture of what occurred before the incident.
