Rear-End Motorcycle Crashes Can Be Especially Dangerous
Rear-end collisions involving motorcycles often result in serious outcomes due to the lack of protection for the rider. Even a moderate impact can cause a rider to lose control or be thrown from the bike.
On highways, vehicles travel at higher speeds, which can increase the force of impact. This may reduce reaction time for drivers following behind motorcycles.
Maintaining distance and awareness of smaller vehicles on the road can help reduce the chance of these types of crashes. Visibility and timing both play a part in how safely traffic flows around motorcycles.
