What Risks Are Associated With Skid Steer Equipment on Work Sites?
Work zones involving skid steers, such as those along Blair Road, often require careful handling due to the equipment’s size and power. These machines are commonly used for lifting, grading, and transporting materials, but can pose hazards when conditions are unstable.
Overturning is one of the more serious risks. Uneven ground, steep slopes, or improper operation can cause the equipment to tip. When this happens, the operator may have little time to react, especially if safety restraints are not in use.
Clear visibility, stable surfaces, and proper training can help reduce these risks. Regular equipment checks and awareness of surroundings also play a part in maintaining safety on active work sites.
