What Factors Are Often Involved in Intersection Crashes with Larger Vehicles?
Highways like U.S. Highway 412 and County Road 4160 can have fast-moving traffic, increasing the risk when vehicles enter from side roads. Failing to yield at a stop sign can place a vehicle directly in the path of oncoming traffic.
Crashes involving larger vehicles such as semi-trucks can result in more severe outcomes due to their size and weight. Even a single impact can cause smaller vehicles to lose control or roll over.
Roadway layout and timing also influence these incidents. Drivers must judge speed and distance carefully when entering a highway, especially at intersections where traffic moves faster.
