According to early findings, the motorcyclist was traveling north on Main Street at a high rate of speed and struck the rear of a car that had entered the roadway from a parking lot and was crossing lanes.
The impact caused the car to spin while the rider was thrown from the motorcycle. The motorcycle continued forward and hit a second car. The rider, identified as 23-year-old Xavier Lujan of Roswell, was pronounced dead at the scene. The occupants of both cars were not hurt. The incident remains under review by authorities.

High-Speed Motorcycle Crashes Can Lead to Severe Outcomes
Motorcycles offer less protection than enclosed vehicles, which can increase the risk of serious injury in a crash. At higher speeds, the force of impact becomes much greater, making it harder for riders to maintain control or avoid obstacles.
When a motorcycle strikes another vehicle, the rider may be thrown from the bike. This can lead to additional impacts with the road or nearby vehicles. These types of crashes often involve complex sequences, especially when multiple vehicles are present.
Road design and traffic movement can also influence how these incidents unfold. Vehicles entering or crossing busy roads may create sudden conflicts. Clear visibility, controlled speeds, and careful timing are factors that can affect safety in these situations.
